As a purpose-built and world-class facility, accessibility for everyone has been at the forefront of the Tākina design philosophy
Tākina will provide barrier-free access to people with physical disabilities, the visually impaired and hearing impaired to ensure experiences, learning, knowledge transfer and showcasing is accessible to everyone.
Tākina will have access ramps at its two main entrances. Internally there will be lifts to all areas, accessible toilets on all floors and an accessible parents’ room on level one. All meeting spaces will have easy access and ample circulation space around entranceways.
Tākina wayfinding has been designed to ensure braille is provided on all fixed directional signage, entranceways, public amenity signage and event room door signage. Registered assistance dogs will be welcome in all our spaces too.
Tākina will have hearing assistance augmentation throughout the venue. Listeners can easily select channel and volume level once their personal device is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Event organisers will have a choice of spaces to manage and store guests’ belongings.
